The IT Help Desk Technician provides first-level technical support to staff, students, and administrators throughout the school corporation. This position supports the day-to-day operation of technology systems by troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and account- related issues while helping ensure reliable access to instructional and administrative technology resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line technical support for computers, printers, classroom technology, and software applications.
  • Respond to, track, and document support requests through the help desk ticketing system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common technical issues or escalate more complex problems to senior IT staff.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot student device issues, perform basic repairs when appropriate, and coordinate warranty or vendor repair services when devices require external repair.
  • Assist with device deployment, user account management, password resets, and technology onboarding.
  • Support and maintain Google Workspace environments through the Google Admin Console, including user account administration and device management.
  • Assist with user account management and support functions within PowerSchool and other educational technology platforms.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Perform basic network connectivity troubleshooting for wired and wireless devices.
  • Maintain accurate technology inventory records, repair documentation, and asset management records.
  • Provide professional, customer-focused support to staff and students.

Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and common educational technology tools.
  • Familiarity with PowerSchool, Google Admin Console, or similar management platforms is preferred, but not required
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a school environment.
  • Enrollment in, completion of, or demonstrated interest in pursuing a degree, certification, or career pathway related to Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move between multiple buildings and classrooms throughout the school day.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport technology equipment and devices.
  • Ability to occasionally climb ladders and work at heights when installing, troubleshooting,
  • or maintaining technology equipment.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and work in confined spaces as required to access
