Power the Future of Steel Manufacturing as an IT Operations Administrator

Location: Crawford, IN (fully ONSITE) | Schedule: Mon to Fri 8am to 5pm | Payrate: $38- $45/hour

Contract Length: 12 months to start, possible extension

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled IT Operations Administrator to support a leading company in the steel manufacturing industry. In this critical role, you’ll help drive operational excellence by maintaining and improving enterprise-wide systems that keep production and business operations running efficiently and securely.

What You’ll Do

As an IT Operations Administrator, you will design, configure, maintain, and support enterprise IT systems while partnering closely with business operations and production teams. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Administering and supporting Windows server environments

  • Managing enterprise virtual/cloud platforms including VMware, Azure, Virtual Private Cloud environments, storage, networking, VMs, and container applications

  • Troubleshooting and maintaining Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificates, File Shares, SMTP, IIS, Entra ID, Office 365, and SharePoint

  • Supporting and managing access control systems, security cameras, and badge systems

  • Overseeing software installation, licensing, hardware maintenance agreements, and application support

  • Performing backup, disaster recovery testing, and maintaining recovery plans

  • Assisting with network and security administration initiatives

  • Leading or supporting Agile-based IT projects and coordinating contractor activities

  • Recommending infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and process enhancements

  • Providing mentorship and guidance to IT infrastructure team members

  • Participating in a rotating on-call support schedule, including evenings and weekends as assigned

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure in a data center and/or cloud environment

  • Associate degree in an IT-related field OR 2 additional years of equivalent recent experience

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of related IT experience

  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows, Office, Outlook, and related applications

  • Experience with networking equipment, conference room A/V systems, security systems, cameras, and badge access systems

  • Experience with workstation imaging and MDM platforms such as Intune

  • Knowledge of IIS Administration and/or SharePoint Administration

  • Experience with Cohesity or Veeam backup systems

  • VMware VCP Certification

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)

  • Azure Administrator Certification

  • Scripting experience using PowerShell and/or Python

  • Project management experience in Agile environments

  • Manufacturing or process-industry IT experience preferred

  • Experience configuring and managing server environments

  • Customer support/helpdesk experience

  • Experience working in a heavy industrial environment

Pay Details: $38.00 to $45.00 per hour
