Job description

We are seeking a Sales Manager to lead and manage the ready mix concrete sales group in the Eastern Indiana & Ohio Region. Reporting to the VP/GM, this position is responsible for developing the market sales strategy, and leading the sales group in developing and maintaining customer relationships while maximizing market share and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is to develop, manage, and direct the sales team and related sales activities within the region.
  • Represent the company with customers, industry-related associations, federal, state and local government agencies.
  • Confers with the sales representatives to develop sales objectives for market areas and recommends pricing strategies and promotional programs for key customers; introduces new and existing customers to new product lines to promote growth of market share.
  • Responsible for leading sales group in identifying, working with and tracking projects in the early stage of development through completion.
  • Negotiates pricing with customers while maintaining relationships.
  • Forecasts short and long term sales volumes. Monitors and reports market conditions and their possible effects on the company.
  • Analyzes market segments and positions sales volumes to achieve diverse and stable customer base while maintaining overall market position.
  • Works with the credit department to help resolve major problems or credit issues with delinquent accounts.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned by management
  • Bachelor's Degree in business management, sales/marketing, construction management, or related field and/or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of five years of sales experience desired.
  • Strong and effective communicator, strong analytical skills; and ability to manage, implement, and adapt to change.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Ability to provide direct and actionable feedback.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communication.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to reside within the region of responsibility.
