POSITION SUMMARY:

The Store Team Leader role is responsible for all leadership responsibilities at an assigned Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL) store location, including but not limited to hiring, development, store profit and loss reporting, merchandising, and executing operations in compliance with established policies and procedures. The Store Team Leader role leads and develops all associates in their team in line with the overall philosophy of the company, including store associates and the store leadership team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote the assigned store’s strategic vision as established by OSJL leaders and drive store profits through effective leadership strategies and techniques.
  • Responsible for the hiring, leadership, and development of all store associates, as well as maintaining staffing needs while adhering to the base-scheduling program.
  • Lead the development of reporting store leaders to increase capacity and succession for future leadership opportunities.
  • Ensure store presentation is in compliance with company standards including but not limited to merchandising, maintenance, and cleanliness.
  • Provide for proper ordering and communication to Buyers.
  • Comply with company directives including operational, merchandising and visual policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Monitor customer service to ensure the quality of service is commensurate with company and customer expectations.
  • Develop and promote a stable, knowledgeable store organization.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the designated Performance Support Manager, Human Resources Business Partner, District Asset Protection Manager, and District Team Leader.
  • Responsible for the management of freight flow, backroom organization, and 24-hour freight turnaround.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous retail management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in Google platform (i.e., Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
