Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience overseeing yield improvements and cycle time reductions for high volume and high complexity parts.
  • Experience with manufacturing fixture design.
  • Experience with operations and supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with multiple processes such as machining, welding, brazing (furnace, vacuum), soldering, sintering, stamping, skiving, assembly, die casting, injection molding, and leak detection.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000-$172,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Lead product development teams responsible for developing manufacturing processes, performing Design for Excellence (DFX), and driving implementation of manufacturing solutions for thermal assemblies.
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts through effective communication of design, process, tooling, and material changes to Google manufacturing partners and design engineering peers.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering expertise in supplier selection, qualification, process and cost optimization, failure analysis and recovery, and supplier management through new product lifecycle.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and product designs. Identify process, tooling, and automation opportunities to not only support high volume manufacturing but also to deliver increased product quality, reduced cost, and increased process repeatability.
  • Provide front line support for manufacturing quality issues, driving manufacturing and supplier issues to closure, and guide design issue resolution.
