About the job

This position is needed to support Twilions globally with their AV and Events needs in our remote first hybrid work environment. As an AV and Events Engineer L4, you will be responsible for managing and supporting audiovisual (AV) technology solutions, remote event support, and executive support for industry conferences. Your expertise in AV technology trends, bleeding-edge tools, and certifications will contribute to the success of our organization's AV and events initiatives. You will also mentor members of the End User Computing and Operations team in order to mentor and grow the team alongside you. 

Responsibilities

In this role, you'll:

  • Design, configure, and deploy AV systems and equipment, including audio and video conferencing systems, displays, microphones, and control systems.
  • Manage AV infrastructure, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide timely resolutions to ensure uninterrupted AV services.
  • Support remote, executive and in-person events, including setup, testing, and operation of AV equipment, ensuring seamless audio and visual experiences.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, event planners, and vendors to determine AV requirements and provide expert guidance on technical capabilities and limitations.
  • Assist executives and presenters with AV setup and troubleshooting during industry conferences and high-profile events.
  • Stay updated with the latest AV technology trends, tools, and best practices to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of AV capabilities.
  • Conduct training sessions and create user documentation to empower employees to effectively utilize AV systems and equipment.
  • Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and system optimizations to ensure optimal performance and reliability of AV solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze AV performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and propose innovative solutions to enhance the AV experience.
  • Occasional business travel will be needed so flexibility is necessary to support business objectives.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Audiovisual Technology, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Mac OS proficiency as well as Windows OS familiarity to aid in remote troubleshooting for end-users.
  • Established understanding of troubleshooting basic signal flow for conference rooms 
  • Working knowledge of industry standard equipment and peripherals (Crestron, Neat, Logitech, etc.) 
  • 8+ years experience using AV and Events software such as Zoom, Google Meet etc.
  • Crestron Certified Programmer (CCP) or Extron AV Associate certification.
  • Event Technology Specialist (ETS) certification.
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist - Design (CTS-D) certification
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist - Installation (CTS-I) certification
  • Certifications for all hardware manufacturers we install as applicable (Shure, Crestron, Chief, QSC, Biamp)
  • Advanced troubleshooting and understanding of signal flow in conference rooms
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (relevant for event management aspects).
  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification by AVIXA (Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association).
  • Strong knowledge of AV technologies, including audio systems, video conferencing systems, projectors, displays, and lighting.
  • Familiarity with event management processes, including AV setup, production, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with AV control systems and software, such as Crestron, Extron, or similar platforms.
  • Proficient in operating and troubleshooting AV equipment and software.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours to support events or executive needs.
  • Previous experience with remote event support and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx) 
  • ITIL v4 Foundation or Similar
  • Google Workplace Certification (or similar professional certificate)

Desired:

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow as a ticketing system
  • Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or Microsoft Equivalent
  • Advanced certification in specific AV technologies (as applicable)

Location

This role will be based in our San Francisco, California office. 

Travel 

We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, approximately 15% travel is anticipated to help you connect in-person in a meaningful way.

Compensation

*Please note the salary range information provided applies only to candidates residing in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington D.C., and Washington State due to local requirements. Compensation for candidates in other locations will be discussed during the hiring process. Please note that hiring for this role is not restricted to the locations listed above.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C. : $51.27 - $64.09
  • Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $54.27 - $67.84
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $60.30 - $75.38
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are generally eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
