Job description

Are you skilled in maintenance, repairs, and facility upkeep - and looking for meaningful work that makes a difference in the community? Goodwill Industries of Tenneva is hiring aMaintenance Technicianto help keep our retail stores, donation centers, warehouses, and administrative buildings safe, functional, and welcoming.

If you enjoy hands-on work, solving problems, and working in a variety of environments, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical work
  • Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs in a timely manner
  • Safely operate tools, equipment, vehicles, and material handling equipment
  • Assist with construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects
  • Maintain grounds and support overall facility appearance and safety
  • Coordinate materials and supplies needed for repair and maintenance work
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and Goodwill safety procedures
  • Travel between multiple Goodwill locations as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal teams and external customers

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in facility maintenance, construction, or a skilled trade preferred
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
  • Must meet Goodwill insurability requirements to operate company vehicles
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Working knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and building systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 100 pounds
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and conditions
