Job description

We are looking for a Maintenance Tech join our team in Gorham, Maine!
Maintenance Tech: $18 - $20 per hour DOE (M-F 6:30am-3pm)
On Call every 4th week
Location: Gorham, ME
The Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of maintenance activities to maintain and improve safety, appearance, and operation of Agency facilities and grounds. Utilizes general maintenance knowledge to keep facilities in repair and report deficiencies as they are encountered. Includes overseeing projects that are completed by outside vendors or contractors. Ensures all work is completed according to ADA, Health & Safety, and OSHA specifications.
The Maintenance Technician is expected to:
  • Assist other Maintenance Technicians in the performance of scheduled and emergency maintenance as required.
  • Perform minor tasks such as painting, patching drywall, clearing clogged drains with minimal supervision.
  • Provide lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal services.
  • Follow directions while relying on experience to perform repairs or maintenance.
  • Conduct daily safety checks on assigned Agency vehicles and adhere to all Agency vehicle policies.
  • Supports construction projects for Agency facilities and complete projects to ADA, Health & Safety, and OSHA specifications.
  • Some overtime will be expected
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to handle strenuous activity including heavy lifting (50 pounds).
  • General knowledge of computer-related tasks for job documentation as required.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and politely.
  • May work flexible hours and is available on-call to respond to emergency repairs as instructed by Property Management leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize time and materials to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize tools and supplies needed to complete responsibilities.
  • Successful completion of a background check that meets Agency standards.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and insurance that meets Agency standards.
  • Some overnight and travel requires

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of experience in the construction industry or equivalent experience and or knowledge.
