Material Handler - Canton Outlet Store

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is hiring a Material Handler to join our team at our North Canton outlet store! In this vital role, you will be at the heart of our mission, handling donated materials and ensuring they are properly processed for sale. You'll move donated goods, salvage commodities, refuse, equipment, and other materials on and off trucks, sort items into designated locations, and support all areas of the salvage sorting process. This position offers excellent cross-training opportunities to expand your skills across multiple store functions.

At Goodwill, you're not just processing donations; you're helping to fund job training, employment placement services, and other community-based programs that empower individuals to achieve their full potential. Be part of something bigger!

Primary duties include moving donated materials, salvage commodities, trash, equipment/fixtures, or other designated materials on/off trucks, and sorting them properly into designated locations within the store. Will assist in all areas of the salvage sorting process and cross-train to cover other specified job descriptions within the plant as needed. Provide excellent customer service to the stores, admin, and all other vendors/donors.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Ability to operate all tipping equipment - must be age 18 or older

  • Ability to use all appropriate safety PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and follow safety protocols

  • Knowledge of different shades and tones of color

  • Knowledge of merchandise across a variety of categories

  • Ability to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
