Summary
About the position: This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Moose Run Golf Course on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. Applications are open to ages 18 and older.
This is a Seasonal position Not-To-Exceed 31-Oct-2026.
This position is Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Help
The incumbent performs significant labor involved with golf course grounds maintenance. Operates heavy, complex riding lawn mowers and similar types of specialized mowing equipment (e.g., multiple and independently controlled cutting decks, single function components) and/or specially designed riding mowers that operate on slopes and require constant attention to working space and environment. Operates various controls and levers to maneuver equipment and lift, lower, adjust, engage, and disengage components or attached devices when working around: trees, greens, aprons, tees, fence lines, banks and hillsides, cart paths, sand bunkers, tee markers and cups on greens, trenches, slopes, curbs, rocks and other visible obstacles.
Determines and selects the most appropriate type of equipment to accomplish each phase of the work in the most productive and cost-effective manner. Completes all aspects of special assignments involving several steps, phases or detailed procedures (e.g., preparing ground, laying sod, planting flowers or shrubs and using simple drawings to establish a planting pattern and/or design). The laborer installs forms and lays walks and paths using gravel and asphalt mixes; excavates and backfills ditches and trenches with hand tools; repairs and replaces pipe on irrigation systems; and may be asked to operate mowers, dump trucks or other equipment. Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of: large, complex riding mowers and similar types of specialized mowing equipment; skill in operating various controls and levers to maneuver equipment and lift, lower, adjust, engage, and disengage components or attached devices; skill in controlling and maneuvering large, complex riding mowing equipment; ability to independently complete assignments involving several steps, phases, or procedures; ability to follow written and/or oral instructions; ability to lift and move heavy objects weighing over 50 pounds. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
