Hope Valley Country Club, located in Durham, North Carolina, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, is hiring for Food Runners. Founded in 1926, Hope Valley is an elite private club featuring a classic Donald Ross designed golf course, state-of-the-art tennis facility, resort-style pool complex, and a spacious, welcoming clubhouse offering its members first-class recreation, dining, and programming. Hope Valley is ideally situated in the heart of one of Southeast's most vibrant, exciting areas.
The Food Runner serves as the connection between the kitchen and our members and guests. This role is responsible for delivering food quickly, accurately, and professionally while supporting the front-of-house and culinary teams to ensure an exceptional dining experience.
Responsibilities of the Food Runner at Hope Valley Country Club include:
Member & Guest Service
  • Deliver food promptly and accurately to members and guests.
  • Ensure meals are presented properly and meet Club standards.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with members and guests.
  • Assist servers in providing exceptional hospitality.
  • Answer basic menu questions and assist members when appropriate.

Team Support
  • Work closely with servers, bartenders, managers, and kitchen staff.
  • Assist with clearing tables and maintaining dining room cleanliness.
  • Support banquet and event operations as needed.
  • Help ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • Jump in wherever needed to support the team and member experience.

Event & Banquet Support
  • Assist with weddings, golf tournaments, member events, holiday celebrations, and private functions.
  • Deliver food to buffet stations and banquet spaces.
  • Help maintain food presentation and cleanliness throughout events.
  • Support setup and breakdown of food stations when necessary.

Club Standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure dining and service areas remain neat and inviting.
  • Uphold the Club's standards of excellence and hospitality.

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
