Falls Village Golf Club located in Durham,ย North Carolinaย is seeking part-time and full time, hourly Course Maintenance employees to join our Agronomy team.ย  Full-time positions will come with a full benefits package to include Medical, Dental and Vision coverage as well as Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay.ย  Please see a general job description below and should you feel your knowledge, education and experience could be a match, apply today!

Pay Rate: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Job Description:

Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and constructions.ย  Performs semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks as required. Responsible for daily course appearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assists with preparing the course for daily play.
    • Rake the bunkers.
    • Cut and trim golf course greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
    • Assists with watering the roughs.
  • Applies growth enhancers and disease
  • Cuts grass and trims weeds using hand mower or power driven lawn mower, weed trimmer and brush cutter.
  • Plants grass, trees, shrubs or flowers according to instructions and planned design of landscaped area.
  • Applies mulch to designated areas.
  • Pulls weeds around bushes, trees and flower beds.
  • Ability to work variable hours.
  • Performs general landscape maintenance using hand held equipment.
  • Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
  • Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing.
  • Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material.
  • Involved with tasks related to course detail.
  • Assists with golf course set up procedures.
  • Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.
  • Performs general labor and cleaning related to golf course maintenance equipment.
  • Delivers drinking water on course.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
  • Regular & reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Degree/Licenses:

High school education preferred; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceย

Regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks and is frequently able to lift 50 pounds of weight through the work day and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds. Employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions,ย chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, mechanical hazards and electrical hazards. Work extended hours during golf season.
