Overview

We currently seek an experienced and innovative Director of Marketing to join our award-winning landscape architecture firm. Founded in 1969, Design Workshop is an international landscape architecture, land planning, urban design and strategic services firm with work spanning the globe. The firm has been recognized with over 260 prestigious awards for its work in new communities, urban centers, resorts, public parks, golf courses and residences. The firm's philosophy challenges the project team to equally integrate and balance artistic vision, environmental sensitivity, community values and sound economics to create unique places that stand the test of time. It refers to this approach as DW Legacy Design .

Responsibilities
  • Lead and elevate Design Workshop's marketing vision, strategy, and impact across the firm
  • Partner with Principals and firm leadership to shape and execute high-impact marketing initiatives
  • Drive the strategic marketing plan, ensuring alignment with business development goals and firm growth
  • Champion brand excellence through compelling marketing tools, materials, and storytelling
  • Build, mentor, and optimize a high-performing marketing team, including training and workflow development
  • Oversee and win complex RFP and RFQ pursuits
  • Amplify the firm's voice through innovative public relations and social media strategies
  • Empower staff and leadership with the tools, training, and confidence to support marketing efforts
  • Fuel business development success by cultivating client and prospect relationships
  • Lead interview strategy and coaching, positioning teams to win new work
  • Direct promotional efforts and advertising strategy, including ownership of the marketing budget
  • Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, helping guide firm-wide strategy
  • Collaborate with the CEO and President to drive bold, integrated marketing, business development, and PR initiatives
  • Oversee marketing efforts firmwide, managing team members across multiple offices
Qualifications
  • Bring a strong drive for results, backed by proven success in marketing leadership and team management
  • Demonstrate deep experience leading marketing efforts within a landscape architecture or related design firm
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Offer 5-10+ years of experience in a Marketing Director or similar leadership role
  • Bring industry insight, ideally within architecture, engineering, construction, or planning (AEC)
  • Understand the language of design, including urban design, landscape architecture, and land planning
  • Showcase professional engagement, with preferred active membership in SMPS
  • Be highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
