Responsibilities
About the role
The Strategic Initiatives Analyst I will support the development and deployment of GM Financial's strategic planning framework. The framework assists leadership in understanding emerging trends (e.g., Generative AI, digital, fintech, etc.) and developing a strategic roadmap to create and maintain competitive advantage. This role will work cross-functionally to support strategic initiatives in the capacity of financial modeling and competitive intelligence research. The Strategic Initiatives Analyst I will support business case development and lead investment analysis in evaluating new lines of business and/or strategic capabilities. It is expected the Analyst I will provide ongoing analytical and project support as initiatives move into execution.
In this role you will:
  • Support the development of business cases with cross-functional project team members.
  • Support market assessment activities to evaluate new initiatives.
  • Lead financial modeling workstreams.
  • Manage competitive intelligence routines and tracking emerging risks and opportunities using competitive intelligence tools.
  • Contribute to ongoing incubation of emerging business lines.

  • Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation

Education & Work Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field required
  • 1+ years of experience in strategic planning, strategic development or finance required
  • Financial modeling and valuation in Excel preferred
