ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Planning & Program Launch
  • Lead APQP activities in alignment with OEM requirements (GM, Ford, Stellantis)
  • Develop and maintain:
    • Control Plans
    • PFMEA / DFMEA
    • Process Flow Diagrams
  • Coordinate PPAP submissions and approvals with customers
  • Support new product launches and engineering changes (ECNs)

Manufacturing Quality Oversight
  • Monitor and improve quality performance in:
    • Hot forming processes (press hardening, quenching)
    • Welding operations (resistance, MIG, laser)
    • Assembly lines for underbody systems
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements

Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis
  • Lead structured problem-solving using:
    • 8D methodology
    • 5 Whys
    • Fishbone (Ishikawa) analysis
  • Respond to customer complaints and warranty issues
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

Customer Interface
  • Act as primary quality contact for OEM customers
  • Lead customer audits, visits, and quality reviews
  • Manage customer scorecards and performance metrics
  • Ensure timely response to SPPS/PRRs (Problem Resolution Reports)

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and lead initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and variation
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Improve process capability (Cp, Cpk) and reduce defects (PPM)

Supplier Quality Support
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality team on incoming issues
  • Support supplier audits and development activities

Qualifications

Education

Experience

  • Experience with Tier 1 suppliers and OEM customer interaction
  • Strong background in:
    • Hot forming / press hardening
    • Roll Forming
    • Welding technologies
    • Assembly processes

Technical Skills
  • APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA
  • IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards
  • Statistical analysis and problem-solving tools
  • Blueprint reading & GD&T
  • Familiarity with quality software (e.g., QMS systems)

Soft Skills
