Job description

As we create a colorful, capable and cleaner world through chemistry, we invite you to join our team to harness the power of chemistry to shape markets, redefine industries and improve lives for billions of people around the world.
CREATING ESSENTIAL CHEMISTRY THAT THE WORLD NEEDS
At Chemours, our people are redefining how the world thinks of chemistry by approaching everything we do with a commitment to delivering Trusted Chemistry that creates better lives and helps communities thrive. That begins with how we use our science, data, and unmatched technical expertise to develop market-leading products with the highest levels of performance, sustainability, and safety in the industry.
Powered by chemistry, our products are used in applications that make the products we rely on, processes, and new technologies possible. In key sectors such as clean energy, advanced electronics, high-performance computing and AI, climate friendly cooling, and high-quality paints and coatings for homes and industrial infrastructure---sustainable solutions and more modern living depend on Chemours chemistry.
Chemours is seeking a Global Technology Manager for our Melt processable fluoropolymersteam to join our growing Advanced Performance Materials (APM) business. This highly visible leadership role will report directly to theGlobal Technology Director of Advanced Performance Materials and is based at the Chemours Discovery Hub in Newark, DE. This role requires close collaboration with global strategic growth, commercial, marketing, and manufacturing resources to align innovation efforts with customer and market needs.
Chemours' Advanced Performance Materials business develops high-performance materials that enable critical technologies across semiconductor manufacturing, AI infrastructure, high-performance computing, advanced communications, transportation, energy, and industrial markets. Our market-driven innovation strategy combines deep materials expertise with application-focused development to create solutions for challenges that conventional materials cannot solve. Our fluoropolymer technologies are enabling some of the fastest-growing segments globally, including:
  • Semiconductor chip manufacturing and advanced packaging

  • Next-generation wire, cable, and interconnect solutions for high-speed, high-frequency communications and data infrastructure, and AI and hyperscale data center technologies

  • Ultra-high-purity or harsh chemical fluid handling systems, often at extreme temperatures in challenging environments

  • Transportation, aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial technologies

Fluoropolymer material solutions are essential to support several growing areas of modern advanced electronics technology. As semiconductor device architectures become more complex and semiconductor manufacturing demands higher purity, reliability, thermal performance, and chemical resistance, fluoropolymers are the materials of choice.
The revolution in high speed/high frequency communication, increase in connected applications, and Artificial Intelligence, require next generation materials that are durable and have the best possible electrical insulation properties, such as for data center cabling. Fluoropolymers are that solution.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the global technical team collaborating with our customers and value chain partners to drive technology development at the forefront of these industry transformations, as well as supporting the existing applications and product portfolio.
This highly visible role of Global Technology Manager will lead a global team of scientists and engineers around the world, who are responsible for solving the challenges that face the current incumbent materials.
The Global Technology Manager will coordinate program activities and resourcing, guide development and prioritization, and have oversight of the global R&D, technical service, prototyping, testing, and application development laboratories in America, Europe and China. The role also interacts with strategic customers and value chain partners to identify and drive adoption of the new materials. The position is a key leadership position in the technology organization, working daily together with the global technology director and VP of technology, as well as the global business development team, strategic growth team members, and all other functions to develop and commercialize Chemours new offerings.

  • Expand capabilities to support product development, application prototyping and industry relevant performance testing for the target applications.

  • Oversee global laboratory operations and investment strategies, including implementation of new equipment, testing methodologies, and development processes - fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, technical rigor, and safe laboratory operations.

The following qualifications are required for this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in research and development, technology leadership, materials development, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct people management experience, including leading technical teams and developing talent.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global technology organizations and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong background in polymer formulation, processing, characterization, and product development for advanced electronics and semiconductor applications.
  • Domestic and international travel up to 25%

The following qualifications are preferred for this role:
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
