The Global Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that drive cost efficiencies, improve product margins, and strengthen supplier partnerships. This role plays a critical part in identifying high-value opportunities across the company's top items, sourcing directly from manufacturers, and introducing new products that align with business objectives and customer demand.

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies focused on cost reduction and margin improvement.
  • Source products directly from factories, eliminating intermediaries where possible to maximize value.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure quality, reliability, and compliance standards are met.

Cost Optimization & Negotiation

  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure improved pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements.
  • Focus on reducing costs across the company's top-performing and highest-volume items.
  • Continuously analyze market trends and cost drivers to identify savings opportunities.

Product Development & Innovation

  • Identify and introduce new products on a regular basis to support buyers and merchandising teams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align new product sourcing with customer demand and business goals.
  • Stay informed on global trends, materials, and manufacturing capabilities.

Travel & Global Engagement

  • Travel internationally 1-2 times per year to visit factories, attend trade shows, and strengthen supplier relationships.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations of manufacturing capabilities and production processes.

Performance & KPI Management

  • Support the department in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs), with a strong emphasis on margin growth.
  • Drive initiatives to achieve and exceed margin targets, building a foundation for continued improvement in future years.
  • Monitor and report on sourcing performance, cost savings, and margin impact.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with buyers, merchandising, logistics, and finance teams to ensure alignment and execution of sourcing strategies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations that influence assortment planning and purchasing decisions.
QualificationsEssential Qualities for Success
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Proven track record of successful cost negotiation and margin improvement.
  • Experience sourcing directly from overseas factories.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, wholesale, or consumer goods industries.
  • Familiarity with international trade regulations and logistics.
  • Strong supplier network in key global manufacturing regions.
Physical Requirements  
  • Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
  • Capability to lift 15 pounds periodically.
  • Able to navigate and access all facilities.
  • Skill to effectively communicate verbally with others, both in-person and via electronic devices.

The pay range for this position is $78,000- $100,000 annualized and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
