Role Overview
Come join Intuit as a Principal Process Excellence Consultant for the Operational Excellence team! In this top-tier individual contributor role, you are the primary architect and governing authority for the process infrastructure across the Risk Operations department. You will define the end-to-end process strategy and serve as the final approver for the design and implementation of new operational frameworks. Leveraging expert-level Six Sigma principles and AI-driven automation strategies , you will ensure our global infrastructure-covering Underwriting, Fraud, and AML-is resilient, compliant, and optimized for intelligent growth.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • AI Operations Strategy: Define and lead the roadmap for integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and Machine Learning into core risk workflows, shifting the organization from manual FIFO processing to AI-enabled value-based prioritization.
  • Human-in-the-Loop Architecture: Architect seamless 'Human-in-the-Loop' systems where AI handles high-volume, low-complexity triage, allowing our specialist teams to focus on high-exposure, complex investigations.
  • Algorithmic Governance: Serve as a key stakeholder in the governance of risk models, ensuring that AI-driven automated decisions are transparent, explainable, and aligned with our compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Predictive Process Excellence: Move beyond reactive DMAIC cycles by utilizing predictive analytics and AI to identify potential process bottlenecks or emerging fraud trends before they impact the bottom line.
  • Workflow Architecture: Architect and oversee the overhaul of complex workflows, ensuring seamless integration between technical risk tools and human-led Underwriting, Fraud, and AML reviews.
  • Process Infrastructure Authority: Serve as the primary architect and final approver for all end-to-end process designs, ensuring that new implementations align with the broader organizational strategy.
  • Impact Governance: Review and approve the impact analyses and business cases developed by Process Excellence consultants, ensuring data integrity and strategic alignment.
  • Strategic Roadmap Ownership: Champion the multi-year process roadmap to executive leadership, providing the vision for a scalable and compliant Risk Ops infrastructure.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Identify systemic opportunities for process change or system improvements across the entire risk organization, focusing on the complexities of money movement and global risk trends.
  • Extreme Mentorship: Act as the SME lead for the department, taking time to teach and mentor Consultants and Manager (M2) levels to broaden their risk and business acumen.

Craft Skills & Leadership (Principal Level):
  • AI Fluency: Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between technical data science teams and operational investigators, translating complex model outputs into actionable, frontline process improvements.
  • Advanced Process Excellence: The ability to evaluate and document business processes while managing a portfolio of 10+ high-stakes projects, including multi-year strategic initiatives, without the need for manager intervention.
  • Risk Business Intelligence: A deep understanding of industry best practices, global risk concerns, and the regulatory environment to ensure our infrastructure survives economic and business shifts.
  • Total Ownership: Takes immediate accountability for the outcome of the entire process ecosystem and successfully influences executive partners on the importance of infrastructure investments.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Expert Six Sigma Certification: Six Sigma expertise is highly preferred, with a proven history of governing large-scale process transformations.
  • Fintech Leadership: 10+ years of experience leading operational excellence in a high-volume financial services environment (Risk, Fraud, or Lending preferred).
  • Digital Transformation Experience: Proven track record of leading 'Digital-First' transformations, specifically migrating legacy manual operations into AI-augmented or fully automated environments.
  • Architectural Vision: Proven ability to design complex, multi-quarter technical and people-based systems that improve operational effectiveness.
  • Executive Influence: Exceptional presentation and written communication skills, capable of gaining buy-in for multi-million dollar infrastructure shifts from VP and C-level leadership.
  • Analytical Mastery: Sophisticated ability to analyze data and prioritize business problems across a diverse cross-functional landscape.
