You'll work across the entire organization, serving as THE expert on Databricks while maintaining comprehensive knowledge of BigQuery and Cloudera. Responsibilities

  • Own competitive intelligence gathering and analysis for Databricks (primary) and Google BigQuery and IBM watsonx, delivering actionable insights that drive business decisions

  • Conduct comprehensive research using both internal sources (sales teams, product teams) and external sources (social media, competitor websites, industry analysts, conferences)

  • Apply GenAI tooling — including Claude, Copilot, Gemini, and Crayon — to accelerate research workflows, expand coverage capacity, and maintain consistent analytical output across the coverage portfolio

  • Develop and maintain structured prompt libraries for repeatable CI research and content development workflows

  • Monitor competitor activity and market signals using agentic AI monitoring tools, with disciplined source verification and factual accuracy as a non-negotiable standard for all work product

  • Create and maintain competitive battlecards, deep dives, and sales enablement materials that directly impact competitive win rates

  • Collaborate with marketing to develop differentiated positioning and messaging

  • Provide real-time competitive sales support for high-stakes GTM opportunities

  • Develop and deliver competitive training and enablement programs for global sales teams

  • Maintain and evolve the competitive intelligence knowledge base

  • Present competitive insights and recommendations to executive leadership

Who You’ll Work With

You will partner with product management to influence roadmap decisions based on competitive analysis, with particular depth in agentic AI architectures and vector datastore competitive dynamics.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Marketing, Technology, or similar)

  • 5+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, product marketing, or industry analysis

  • Understanding of the modern data and AI landscape — analytical platforms, machine learning infrastructure, and agentic AI architectures

  • Knowledge of vector datastores and open table formats (Iceberg, Delta, Hudi) as competitive subject matter

  • Hands-on familiarity with GenAI tooling as a research and productivity methodology — including large language models, prompt engineering, and agentic monitoring platforms such as Crayon

  • Experience with the enterprise software sales cycle and competitive deal dynamics

  • Proven track record of enabling sales teams in competitive situations

  • Knowledge of the cloud ecosystem including public cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments

  • Travel may be required up to 15% of the time.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights — and the discipline to verify AI-generated research before it enters the work product

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven presentation abilities to executive audiences

  • Strategic thinking and prioritization capabilities across a multi-vendor coverage portfolio

  • Project management expertise to handle multiple concurrent initiatives

  • Research proficiency using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including AI-augmented research techniques

  • Working knowledge of GenAI tooling — including large language models, prompt engineering, and agentic monitoring platforms — as applied research and productivity tools

  • Ability to build strong relationships across organizational functions

  • Understanding of data architectures, particularly cloud-native analytics platforms, agentic AI architectures, and vector datastores
