SUMMARY

The Director of Partnership Strategy will play a critical role in representing the interests of the Global Partnerships department across all new initiatives and projects aimed at expanding our business portfolio. This role is focused on revenue generation and the development of go-to-market strategies for new properties, intellectual property (IP), experiences, media, projects, and programs. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Support the Global Partnerships department in all new business initiatives to expand the company's portfolio.
  • Develop and support the execution of revenue generation strategies and go-to-market plans for partnership opportunities across new properties, IP, experiences, media, projects, and programs. These plans may include pricing, positioning, packaging, and prospecting/pitching strategies.
  • Work closely with Global Partnerships leadership team to make recommendations on budget revenue targets for new projects. 
  • Serve as a key liaison between the global partnerships team and other departments (e.g., Marketing, Products & Experiences, Legal, Finance), especially related to portfolio growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Partner Solutions team and internal stakeholders to create compelling storytelling and go-to-market materials for new projects. 
  • Ensure seamless integration of partnership opportunities into new projects by working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams including Partnership Marketing, Partnership Development, Marketing, CapEx, Corporate Development, Products & Experiences, Levy, Finance, Operations, Ticketing, Data Analytics & Insights, Brooklyn Media, NY Liberty, Brooklyn Nets, Community, and Communications.
  • Lead the day-to-day onboarding process for new projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. 
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track partnerships progress of various workstreams for new projects.
  • Contribute comprehensive organizational project documentation for all involved stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with various functional teams, ensure all members are meeting deliverables for partnership department's needs, and resolve all issues related to new asset onboarding.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of available rights, category exclusivities, and designations across various properties to avoid conflicts and maximize revenue potential. 
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership on partnership opportunities and market trends.
  • Serve as the internal point of contact and subject matter expert for all new initiatives, tracking and reporting project updates across the department.
  • Educate internal stakeholders on global partnership priorities and how their functions contribute to success.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with current and prospective business partners. 
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff across the department, fostering professional growth and excellence. 
  • Maintain and grow a robust network of industry contacts to stay ahead of trends and opportunities.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in partnership strategy, project management, business development, or a related role within the sports and entertainment industry.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and deliver partnership strategies and revenue-generating plans.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and other relevant tools.
  • Schedule flexibility to attend games and events in a working capacity on evenings and weekends.

COMPENSATION

$108,000 - $130,000 base salary

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This role is based in our corporate headquarters in Brooklyn and requires flexibility to support projects that may occur in the evenings, weekends, or holidays. May be required to travel on rare occasion; trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.
