Job description

Bessemer Trust is seeking a CCO - Data Operations Associate to support data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across its trust accounting system and internal applications. The role is responsible for account and security setup and maintenance, ensuring reliable, firmwide referential data. It also supports business partners with timely insights and expertise to enable efficient decisions and client service.
This position focuses on strong data controls, operational efficiency, and risk reduction, while identifying data issues, performing root cause analysis, and driving process improvements to strengthen controls and reduce manual effort.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update data across systems, including account and security setup, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to data standards.
  • Monitor system activity, investigate data issues (including security setup discrepancies), and resolve exceptions and reconciliation breaks.
  • Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce manual effort, and strengthen controls using Excel, SQL, and automation.
  • Contribute to standardization of processes and documentation to support operational consistency and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support system and process enhancements.
  • Participate in system testing, upgrades, and new initiative implementations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial services operations or securities industry.
  • Working knowledge of financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, mutual funds, and ETFs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation, and reporting.
  • Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, or similar querying tools for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong work ethic with a sense of ownership, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred
  • Experience with Global Plus or similar trust accounting platforms, familiarity with Bloomberg or other market data platforms for security and pricing data.
  • Experience reconciling large data sets and leveraging reporting tools to ensure accuracy and insight.
  • Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., Excel macros, Power Automate).
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 per year. This range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. In addition, this position may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, and other compensation programs as applicable. Eligible employees may participate in a 401(k) program with a generous profit-sharing contribution, medical, prescription dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; disability coverage; paid holidays; vacation; and sick time, subject to plan terms and Company policies.
