As part of the ICAT network, AVA Global Logistics represents our specialized division focused on secure, high-value asset transportation, including banknotes, refined and unrefined precious metals, and other valuable commodities. To support AVA's expansion into additional high-value sectors and further strengthen ICAT's capabilities, we are looking for top-tier talent to join our growing team.


The Opportunity

We are hiring an Operations Manager NYC to manage day-to-day secure logistics operations across the New York region, with direct oversight of cash processing activities in the Americas region.

This role is responsible for operational execution, team leadership, third party partner oversight, and customer service excellence in a high security, high value logistics environment.

This is a hands-on leadership position with daily involvement in both shipment management and cash processing operations.


What You'll Be Responsible For

Oversee end to end international shipments from collection through final delivery

Book and coordinate services with CIT providers, brokers, airlines, and logistics partners

Ensure all shipment documentation, contracts, and compliance requirements are completed prior to movement

Maintain accurate data entry and shipment tracking in CargoWise

Manage third party cash processing partners in the NY area, ensuring compliance with security standards and SLAs

Maintain hands on daily involvement in cash processing activities across New York and New Jersey

Monitor reconciliation, balancing controls, and operational integrity

Proactively resolve operational issues and lead escalation management when required

Supervise and develop operations team members

Manage workload, productivity, and service standards

Support the sales team with quotations, job creation, cost control, and timely invoicing

Build strong vendor relationships and identify new regional partners

Ensure adherence to company policies, security protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures

Prepare operational reports and contribute to process improvement initiatives

Drive strong governance around daily balancing, discrepancy resolution, and exception management, ensuring rapid investigation and closure of variances.

Deliver excellent customer service by promoting a professional, positive, and proactive communication style within the team and with external partners. Serve as a role model and brand ambassador for the company.


What We're Looking For

3 to 5 years of experience in logistics or shipping operations with team supervision responsibility

Experience in secure logistics and cash processing is strongly preferred

Proven ability to lead and motivate a team while remaining hands on

Strong working knowledge of freight forwarding systems such as CargoWise

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Strong organizational, time management, and problem solving skills

Fluent English. Spanish or Portuguese is an advantage

Willingness to travel within the New York and New Jersey area, with limited international travel


Salary Range: Competitive starting salary from $80,000

Travel: Travel to Woodside, NY 2-3 days per week
