Market Intelligence Analyst Data Centers & Power Infrastructure

BCE Consulting

Job description

Applications are accepted exclusively through our Careers page. Please use the buttom to the right to apply.

Important note: This is not a business intelligence, data analytics, dashboarding, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or internal reporting role. This is a market intelligence and primary research role focused on understanding the data center, power infrastructure, and electrical infrastructure markets. Success in this role comes from conducting expert interviews, synthesizing fragmented market information, developing sector expertise, and supporting consulting teams with industry insight.

Who we are:

BCE Consulting is a management consulting firm, founded to offer clients a more engaged and hands-on experience. Our partner-led, team-based approach allows us to successfully solve cases and advise clients on their most challenging business issues such as how to enter new markets, analyze their current competitive and portfolio positions, defend share, and reorganize more profitably. Our solutions are backed by market data and practical, achievable recommendations. We have experience supporting clients across a broad set of B2B and B2C markets in industry sectors ranging from industrials to aerospace to healthcare to technology and consumer.

Market Intelligence Analyst Data Centers & Power Infrastructure Opportunity

Our Industrials practice area is rapidly growing as the data center, power infrastructure, and electrical infrastructure ecosystem become some of the most consequential and fast-moving sectors in the economy today. The volume of client demand in this space has created an opportunity to create a new, data center-focused Analyst role to own that expertise.

This is not a traditional consulting track. There is no expectation of business development or people management responsibilities. What there is: a long-term platform to become the most knowledgeable person in the room and in the market in a sector that matters and in the context of real client problems.

The right person will build and maintain a living knowledge base of the ecosystem, including contributing to a global market model we can leverage across projects, conduct primary research, serve as a resident expert across project teams, and generate external- facing thought leadership efforts in this area.

The work our analysts do is the foundation upon which all our recommendations are built. You will make an impact as a contributing member of a project team in your first few weeks of work. Our training and development program is hands-on from day one, and will help you build the foundational skill set needed to drive results for our clients. We integrate ongoing development opportunities into our project delivery process so that your learning never ends at BCE.

Market Intelligence Analyst responsibilities:

The Market Intelligence Analyst will:

  • Develop and maintain deep expertise across the data center, power, and electrical infrastructure ecosystem
  • Conduct primary research: expert interviews, vendor and customer diligence, ecosystem mapping, and synthesis of fragmented market information
  • Support multiple BCE project teams simultaneously as a resident sector expert, reducing ramp-up time and improving analytical quality across engagements
  • Build a durable, internal knowledge base that compounds over time and contributes to a global market model
  • Translate technical and market complexity into clear, structured analysis for client deliverables
  • Track emerging developments across sectors such as AI infrastructure, hyperscaler strategy, colocation markets, power demand trends, cooling technology, electrical equipment supply chains, power generation and utility infrastructure markets, and contribute to thought leadership in this space

You're a strong fit if:

  • You have 1-3 years of experience in equity research, market intelligence, infrastructure investing, expert networks, or a strategy/analytics role within the data center or power industry
  • You've spent meaningful time on data centers, power infrastructure, electrical equipment, utilities, or adjacent markets and find it genuinely interesting, not just professionally convenient
  • You're known for being thorough, synthesizing fragmented information, and building clear points of view from primary research
  • You'd rather go deeper into one domain than manage people or build a client book
  • You are energized as an individual contributor and see specialist depth as a feature, not a limitation
  • You have built primary source relationships in this space: experts, operators, investors, or vendors you can call to get to the truth quickly

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience as outlined above
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and synthesize primary research under tight deadlines
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to produce structured, clear analysis that non-specialists can act on
  • Genuine intellectual curiosity about the data center and power infrastructure ecosystem
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously across different project teams
  • No requirement for an MBA or specific undergraduate institution. We are more interested in sector depth and research capability
