We have invested significantly in building a differentiated strategic intelligence capability. The Strategic Intelligence Associate supports Burford's global strategic intelligence function by delivering timely, accurate and actionable research that informs marketing, business development, underwriting and corporate strategy.
Reporting to the SVP of Strategic Intelligence, a former AM Law 25 Head of Strategic Intelligence, this role is responsible for executing and delivering core intelligence inputs. This includes monitoring, synthesizing and distributing intelligence; supporting the production and maintenance of high-quality commercial data; and managing core research administration processes. The role directly enables sales and marketing activity and executive decision-making while contributing to the ongoing development of Burford's strategic intelligence capabilities.
The base compensation range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000. Burford also pays a discretionary annual bonus and provides welcome Restricted Stock Units to all full-time employees.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Strategic Intelligence & Market Monitoring
โ€ข Own the production and distribution of the Burford Daily Briefing, ensuring consistent, timely and global delivery of relevant intelligence each business day
โ€ข Monitor legal, litigation, corporate and industry developments, including cases of interest, competitor activity and market signals relevant to Burford's commercial priorities
โ€ข Curate and synthesize information from legal, financial and news databases into clear, concise summaries for internal audiences
โ€ข Support the Strategic Intelligence function with background research, monitoring and briefing materials related to corporate strategy initiatives
โ€ข Own the production and distribution of the quarterly competitor report and actively maintain the competitor tracker
CRM, Data Quality & Salesforce Support
โ€ข Research, validate and support the enrichment and correction of contact and prospect data in Salesforce, partnering with Marketing and BD to improve data accuracy and usability in support of commercial workflows and reporting
โ€ข Partner with Strategic Intelligence leadership and Marketing and BD to ensure intelligence-driven insights and research outputs are reflected accurately in CRM records
Research Administration & Platform Management
โ€ข Manage the research subscription tracking database, including license assignments and ongoing maintenance
โ€ข Support contract renewals and vendor management in collaboration with the SVP of Strategic Intelligence
โ€ข Assist with the initial setup and implementation of new research platforms as part of the intelligence stack
โ€ข Prepare quarterly analyses of research spend and cost allocation for Finance as needed
โ€ข Process vendor invoices and support budget tracking related to research tools and subscriptions as needed
SKILLS DESIRED
Experience
โ€ข 2+ years of experience in research, intelligence, data or analytical support roles, preferably within professional services, legal, financial or consulting environments
โ€ข Demonstrated experience using legal, financial and news research databases
โ€ข Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) or structured data environments
โ€ข Relevant research experience or equivalent professional background
โ€ข Exposure to the legal industry or business of law preferred
