The Superintendent invites qualified and interested individuals to apply for the position of Strategic Analyst for various locations
DEFINITION:
Newark Public Schools is deeply committed to ensuring that every school has excellent leadership, every classroom has the highest quality teacher, and every child has access to the resources and supports necessary for success, including a robust curriculum. Schools need guidance and resources to prepare students for college by meeting the expectations of the New Jersey State Learning Standards. The Newark Public Schools seeks a Strategic Analyst to support the work of the district by driving curriculum specific initiatives and programs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with expertise in specific curriculum areas and operations to make a lasting impact on Newark's students and families. This position may also include other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Strategic Analyst will support the work an assigned Office and/or Department by:
  • Implementing strategic initiatives that align with the district's vision for specific curriculum and instruction.
  • Spending a minimum of 75% of work time in the field providing technical assistance and support.
  • Designing and delivering professional development opportunities.
  • Supporting the implementation of curriculum and professional development.
  • Assisting in assessing the educational, financial, and operational needs of schools and identifying ways assigned Office and/or Department can help meet those needs.
  • Facilitating the acquisition of resources related to the work of the assigned Office and/or Department, and ensuring alignment with budgetary goals.
  • Collaborating with other district departments to develop and implement instructional programs.
  • Supporting strategic partnerships with community and philanthropic partners to enhance programming.
  • Developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to improve available resource options for the district.
  • Perform other duties and tasks assigned.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Outstanding critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent project management and execution skills, with the ability to balance strategic goals with detailed action steps.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • New Jersey Permanent Teacher Certificate.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Master's Degree in Education or a related field preferred.

Salary: $74,063 to $129,952 (for 2025-2026 SY)
Employment Period: Twelve (12) Months
