About Team: EBS - RiskTech
Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization. The Global Governance Tech organization is standing up a new team to develop Risk, Compliance and Privacy solution for customers. Our teams are agile and cloud native. We learn from each other every day. We have a startup culture and are looking to grow our team with software engineers who take pride in their craft and are ready to grow in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites.
What You'll Do:
  • Define platform strategy and develop architecture that will enable scalable development across multiple teams, to adopt software excellence principles of reusability, reliability, availability, and resilience
  • Navigate ambiguous problem definitions and develop technology strategy that works backward from the customer and true North, cross collaborating with Walmart Supply chain tech teams across the Retail and DotCom business, as well as international expansions
  • Adopt and envision new age of technology solutions using Agentic AI and related technologies. Drive innovations and challenge the status quo of software engineering.
  • Leads and participates in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions by partnering with the product management, technical program managers, business, and user experience teams. Prepare requested information and obtain cross-function approvals.
  • Leads the work of other small group of engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, direction, and examples.
  • Identify short- and long-term solutions and timelines, review and provide feedback for proposed solutions and performing design and code reviews of changes.
  • Hands on development on building n-tier applications using Microservices, Java/J2EE and related technologies.
  • Analyzing business requirements, storyboards and similar artifacts of the scrum process, work in an agile development environment with a quick turnaround time and iterative builds.
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams: product management, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results commitment to team success and positive team dynamics.
  • Passion for growing and applying technical skills in service to customers Experience with SCRUM, and/or Extreme Programming methodologies.
  • Play a true role model and mentor for software engineers and product partners; and be a true partner to Engineering leadership.

What You'll Bring:
  • Expert in designing and implementing REST API web services using Spring Boot
  • Expert in backend development. Highly hands-on development experience with Node.js, Java/J2EE, Spring, SQL, Hibernate, JavaScript, HTML.
  • Expert in organization running fully automated, end-to-end CI/CD processes.
  • Expert in cloud technologies and related application development.
  • Expert in platform solutions and delivering scalable and highly performant applications.
  • Strong experience in persistent storage technologies including Relational Databases, NoSQL etc.
  • Good Experience in developing solutions with GenAI/Agentic AI and Machine learning technologies
  • Good Experience in UI technologies like React Web, React Native, React JS.
  • Good Experience with development tools such as Git, Maven, and Splunk. Preferred usage of Co-pilot integrated IDEs including likes of Windsurf.
  • Proficiency in testing and troubleshooting using JUnit tests.
