Job description

Position Summary:

Reporting to the VP of Communications & Events, the Events Manager is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of Global Events, primarily focused on the CorporateConnections® Global Leadership Summit (GLS) and Franchise Leadership Summit (FLS). This role provides excellent customer service while driving sales through event revenue opportunities and adhering to the budgeted expenses for each event. As part of a dynamic team, this position plays a key role in delivering key events on time and on budget. This role requires attention to detail, organization and the ability to execute promises made to partners. The role serves as an important ambassador and representative of BNI and CorporateConnections and collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify business development opportunities that lead to long-standing partnerships.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead event execution of the CorporateConnections( CC) Global Leadership Summit, CC’s largest event of the year
  • Lead event execution of the CC Franchise Leadership Summit
  • Lead +/-2-4 other key global events as specified each year
  • Create and manage budgets for the assigned various events throughout the year
  • Lead vendor selection, contracting and management for all vendors at designated Global Events
  • Own vendor selection, contracting and management for event vendors and suppliers
  • Collaborate with our event operating partner, Mary O’Connor & Company (MOCCO)
  • Manage invoices for all vendors and ensure they are paid in collaboration with the accounting team
  • Ensure team trainings, employee handbook, staff schedule, and other training materials are administered prior to global events
  • Collaborate with the CC marketing & operations teams to support ticket sales and design event curriculum and agenda
  • Design and deploy staff schedules for in-scope events
  • Create and maintain impeccable customer relationships, including identifying customer needs and responding creatively, listening to information, asking questions, and applying knowledge to determine solutions.
  • Create and communicate show specs for electrical, audio visual and tradeshow F&B through various vendors
  • Review and reconcile vendor invoices; tracking and collecting accounts receivable
  • Proactively share ideas and solutions to improve upon global events strategy or execution
  • Communicate event status & key information to CC leadership team on consistent basis
  • Complete site visits as directed to help select future event locations and to prepare for upcoming contracted events
  • Any other duties as assigned to support our company's core values, drive our vision, and fulfill our mission

  • 3 -5 years of experience in event planning for both virtual and in person events
