Moog's Corporate Group is hiring a Senior Director of Global Environmental Health & Safety!
As the Senior Director of Global Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), you will be responsible for shaping enterprise-wide strategies to protect employees, minimize environmental impact, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will drive continuous safety improvements, manage corporate EHS risk, and oversee EHS staff and sustainability initiatives across all operations.
In this role, you will be a strategic and operational leader responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a world-class EHS program across Moog. You will ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations while advancing a proactive safety culture and supporting operational excellence.
You will lead enterprise-wide EHS related strategy, risk management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and supply chain leadership in a highly regulated aerospace environment.
While domestic and international travel will be necessary, you will have an onsite work schedule at our corporate headquarters in East Aurora, New York.
To be considered for the Senior Director of Global EHS, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:
  • A bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; master's degree is preferred.
  • Over 12 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing; preferably in aerospace or other highly regulated industry.
  • Over five (5) years in senior leadership roles, with multi-site/global responsibility.
  • Deep knowledge of global EHS regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex regulatory environments.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) required; Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or equivalent environmental certification is preferred.
  • Strategic mindset and strong executive presence.
  • Demonstrated expertise in change leadership and culture transformation.
  • The ability to utilize data-driven decision-making and performance management.
  • Strong business acumen, and the ability to align EHS with operational goals.
  • Must live local to the Buffalo, NY area, or be willing to relocate.

As the Senior Director of Global EHS, you will:
  • Define and execute the global EHS strategy aligned with corporate goals, operational excellence, and ESG priorities
  • Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on EHS risks, trends, and compliance requirements
  • Build and sustain a strong safety culture focused on prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Lead EHS integration for new programs, expansions, and acquisitions
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations including:
    • OSHA, EPA, state/local environmental agencies
    • FAA, DoD, and other aerospace regulatory standards as applicable
  • Oversee environmental permitting, reporting, and audits (air, water, waste, hazardous materials)
  • Direct incident investigation processes, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Manage enterprise risk assessments and mitigation strategies
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety performance (e.g., TRIR, LTIR, near-miss reporting)
  • Implement EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, AS 9100)
  • Collaborate with operations to integrate EHS into manufacturing processes, engineering design, and production workflows
  • Champion industrial hygiene, ergonomics, machine safety, and hazardous energy control programs
  • Lead, coach, and develop a global EHS team
  • Establish clear KPIs, accountability frameworks, and performance management systems
  • Build organizational capability in safety leadership across all levels (from frontline to executive)
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration across engineering, quality, HR, and operations
  • Ensure effective EHS training programs for all employees and leadership
  • Drive safety engagement initiatives (maturity model, behavior-based safety, safety observations, etc.)
  • Foster a culture of transparency, reporting, and continuous learning

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $240,000.00-$275,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
