The Competence Center Aggregates & Asphalt (CCA) is Heidelberg Materials' global team of technical experts dedicated to driving operational excellence, safety, and cost performance across our Aggregates and Asphalt operations. In North America, our aggregates business spans more than 200 facilities and produces roughly 125 million tons annually. Based in Irving, TX and reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer of North America, the Vice President, CCA โ€“ NAM leads this function for the regionโ€”providing strategic and technical leadership, overseeing the Performance Improvement team, and ensuring leading practices and KPIs are shared and sustained across all operations.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership support to North America Aggregates and Asphalt businesses.

  • Implement continuous improvement and best practice sharing culture within Aggregates, both across North America and with global peers.

  • Establish performance metrics (KPI systems) to systematically evaluate the performance of our Aggregate operations and utilize the tools to drive cost reduction improvements and efficiency gains.

  • Liaise with other Heidelberg Materials technical centers in Cement and Ready-mix Concrete to promote and support global initiatives and objectives.

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of appropriate training for operations personnel such as production performance, sustainability management, customer service, supervisory management, and safety.

  • Ensure Aggregates leading practices, innovative solutions, and emerging ideas are effectively shared, adopted, and scaled across the organization, leveraging regional expertise to address local market requirements and business needs.

  • Collaborate with region leadership team members to drive the development of competent Aggregate supervisors and managers through coaching, training, and active involvement succession planning.

  • Maintain strong external market awareness by monitoring industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative practices that drive operational efficiencies, enhance performance, and reduce costs.

  • Support the evaluation and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures through strategic insight, due diligence leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

What Are We Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant discipline. MBA is preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 yearsโ€™ progressive experience in building materials with a track record of business development and operations success.

  • Broad knowledge of the business combined with a solid technical background in operations.

  • Significant resource development experience including property exploration, land acquisition, and permitting of resources, as well as divestiture and reclamation.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing environmental programs with a working knowledge of applicable environmental laws and regulations

  • Strong stakeholder management, influence, and negotiation skills.

  • Professional competence with strong industry knowledge and understanding of the Aggregates market and products.

  • Innate continuous improvement mindset, process methodology skills, and impressive change management capability.

  • Commitment to sustainable management, championing safety and complying with anti-trust, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.

  • Entrepreneurial management skills, excellent financial acumen, and the demonstrated ability to consider long-term risks and opportunities.

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

Work Environment

  • Regular collaboration with senior leaders, functional teams, and external partners.

  • Travel within the U.S. and Canada required to support business objectives and stakeholder engagement.
