Omni Glass & Paint is hiring a full-time Glazier to join our skilled construction team in Madison, WI. Since 1967, we've built a strong reputation across Wisconsin for quality commercial glass installation in schools, hospitals, office buildings, storefronts, and more. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and opportunities for long-term advancement. You'll work alongside experienced glaziers on a wide range of commercial construction projects.
What You'll Do
As a Glazier, you'll install glass and glazing systems on commercial buildings, including storefront doors and systems, curtain walls, and large-scale glass windows. You'll work with materials like glass, composite panels, and polycarbonate, using a variety of framing systems including aluminum storefront and curtain wall systems. You'll be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings, accurately measuring and cutting materials, and installing both interior and exterior commercial glass systems. You'll also coordinate with foremen, project managers, and customers to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality expectations. Safety is a top priority, and you'll be expected to follow all proper safety protocols on every job site.
What You'll Need
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a four-year glazing apprenticeship program is preferred, along with four to ten years of relevant commercial glazing experience. You must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable traveling to various job sites. You should be able to read blueprints, do basic layout and measurement math, and communicate effectively with both your team and clients. Experience with glazing hardware, commercial glass systems, and related materials is a plus.
