Glazier Helper
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Glazier Helper to assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of glass products, including windows, doors, mirrors, and other glass structures. The ideal candidate will work under the direction of a Lead Glazier, performing tasks that contribute to the successful completion of glazing projects. This is an entry-level position with potential for growth and development in the glazing trade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Glazier in the installation, removal, and repair of glass in windows, doors, storefronts, and other structures.
- Help transport and handle glass materials, ensuring they are safely loaded, unloaded, and stored.
- Prepare and clean work areas by removing old materials, cutting openings, and setting up equipment and tools.
- Measure, cut, and shape glass and other glazing materials as directed.
- Apply sealants, adhesives, and weatherproofing materials to secure glass installations.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively, adhering to company safety protocols.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles.
- Communicate with the Lead Glazier and other team members to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned, such as site clean-up and minor repair work.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in glazing is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions (indoors, outdoors, heights).
- Basic math skills for measuring and cutting glass.
