Job description

Job Title: Commercial Glazier - Lead Installer

Job Description: J&A Glass is seeking a motivated and dependable individual to fill the role of Commercial Glazier -Lead Installer. This is a full-time position, with a competitive starting wage and opportunities for advancement within a growing company. The ideal candidate should have construction experience with framing, using power tools, measuring accurately, caulking and especially glazing experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead or assist on site measure visits to ensure proper sized material for fabrication and ordering
  • Clean and prepare work areas or job sites as needed or instructed
  • Load, offload, and deliver materials to work sites
  • Lead in the installation of glass, storefront/curtain wall, and doors with closers and thresholds
  • Problem solve to ensure project progress and success
  • Follow instructions from the site Foreman and Project Managers
  • Lead onsite installers by communicating project goals and tasks as needed
  • Layout and install brake metal as needed
  • Identify and report issues with work material on site
  • Create and maintain daily reports to ensure high level communication between field and office
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Requirements:

  • Comfort using hand and power tools
  • 2-10+ years of commercial glazing experience
  • Valid ID and driver's license free of major accidents and DUIs
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and have a positive attitude
  • Must communicate from a place leadership showing strong emotional maturity throughout
  • Must possess basic work tools and work well with others (specialty tools provided by J&A)
  • Be quickly trained for forklift license, and boom lift/scissor lift certification
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions and travel to work sites out of the area as needed
