ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Lead the production organization to achieve customer
satisfaction and meet or exceed production budgets
• Identify areas within the manufacturing process that are not
performing up to standard and implement data driven
solutions in order to improve the performance
• Work closely with the materials and planning groups to
ensure timely production and on time delivery
• Identify areas within the manufacturing process that can be
improved from their current level of production in order to
make improve plant competitiveness, and respond by
developing and implementing cost savings initiatives
• Provide technical knowledge, training and skill for the
production operations that will reduce variations to stated
process parameters within Vinyl Shaping, Glass Bending,
Lamination, and other processes
• Stay aware and updated of corporate safety initiatives and
consistently uphold them among the plant
• Assist both Production and Quality in the proper identification
of Quality Defects and implement countermeasures such as
Poke Yokes, DOE’s, and other tools in order to eliminate the
defects
• Participate and provide specifications data during the quoting
process to ensure plant alignment with capacity and
capabilities in support of customer expectations prior to
launch
• Listen to operators while they describe problems with the
process, develop solutions and effectively communicate back
to the operators
• Work closely with the Quality Department when finding root
causes and follow the customer’s 8D process
• Travel to customer sites to assist them in using our products
and gain better understand of the root issues at their location

Coordinate with the Maintenance Organization on a weekly
basis to identify PM and scheduled maintenance on the
production lines in order to maintain high levels of OEE
• Collaborate with Human Resources to attract, hire and retain
exceptional candidates that will strengthen the organization
and foster teamwork within the facility
• Participate in collection and formatting of data for reporting
out to corporate executives in Plant Operating Meetings
(POR’s)
• Review all processes and new installations with the Safety
Engineer to ensure compliance with corporate safety directive
and policies
• Enforce safe work practices in the production group
• Support and/or act as interim Plant Manager when required

REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
Years of Experience:
• 3-7+ years of experience in a leadership role preferably in
a production environment
• 3-7+ years of experience in assembly, production, and/or
manufacturing. Glass manufacturing preferred
Other Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license required for business travel, as
necessary
• Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be
required as workload or projects dictate, including
weekends and holidays

KEY COMPETENCIES
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the glass
manufacturing processes
• Solid understanding of Lean, 5S, DOE, and other process
improvement tools
• Ability to understand the interface between the glass
process, controls, and robotics
• Working knowledge of process and inventory control
• Ability to lead and direct others in accordance with
Carlex’s leadership expectations
• Ability to recognize problems, predict potential outcomes,
and implement countermeasures quickly enough to avoid
problems
• Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis.

Self-motivated and proactive at completing tasks in a
timely manner
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office
Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
