Description
The Planning / CIP Team Specialist is responsible for supporting planning, engineering, innovation, and continuous improvement activities within the business unit to ensure operational efficiency, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role focuses on optimizing warehouse and material flow processes, implementing Lean initiatives, and supporting operational excellence through process analysis, standardization, and continuous improvement strategies.
The Planning / CIP Team Specialist collaborates with operations leadership and cross-functional teams to improve workflows, enhance productivity, and ensure compliance with Schnellecke Logistics standards and customer requirements.
Requirements
What you'll do:
• Execute the values, philosophy, mission, strategy, policies, and standards of Schnellecke Logistics
• Continuously improve planning processes through best practices, automation, and technology solutions
• Initiate, manage, and audit internal Lean systems while coaching and supporting leadership in Lean process implementation
• Develop layouts, material flows, and information flows to optimize operational efficiency and meet customer requirements
• Develop and implement warehouse strategies based on packaging, consumption, delivery methods, and operational requirements
• Analyze operational efficiency data to ensure processes meet performance and quality standards
• Identify recurring operational issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Coordinate and follow up on maintenance activities to support operational continuity
• Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and operational standards
• Support and document Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives across operational areas
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to improve workflow efficiency and process reliability
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and quality requirements
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Planning and CIP Manager
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or equivalent work experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Warehouse Management System experience; VANIS experience preferred
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Kaizen initiatives preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent computer, data entry, and reporting skills
• Experience with Shop Floor Management principles preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to pass a drug screening
Work Environment:
• Work is performed in both warehouse/shop floor and office environments
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, vibration, and varying environmental conditions
• Exposure to moderate to high noise levels within operational areas
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching throughout the workday
• Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on the shop floor
• Frequent interaction with operations leadership, maintenance teams, and cross-functional departments
• Fast-paced logistics and manufacturing support environment focused on operational efficiency and continuous improvement
