Together with our partner MLA (Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas Inc.) we are successfully expanding our activities in the North American market.
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our team as an Electrical Design Engineer.
Position Summary
The Electrical Design Engineer will be based in Houston and play a key role within the Product Development and Construction team. This international, permanent position is available immediately and offers the opportunity to work on innovative mobile machinery projects. The engineer will collaborate closely with mechanical, hydraulic, and test engineers to meet project goals, while also engaging with external suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to bring products into production. The role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues for both new and existing products, ensuring smooth transitions from design to deployment. No Occasional travel is required for this position. The Electrical Design Engineer will be based in Houston and play a key role within the Product Development and Construction team. Responsibilities.
This role includes the design of parts and simple assemblies within defined boundary conditions, as well as the creation of electrical schematics and harnesses. The engineer will be responsible for specifying hardware and software to control trucks, incorporating all safety features and accessories. Additional duties include creating drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) in accordance with company standards, supporting prototype and field test equipment during construction and commissioning, and coordinating development tasks with suppliers. The engineer is expected to contribute to continuous improvement efforts and support cross-functional collaboration throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with cradle-to-production design and testing of electrical systems (0-3 years preferred)
  • Experience in mobile machine design is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with electronic testing equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, programmable load, etc.).
  • Proficiency with SAP, E3 Series 2014, and DOORS
  • Familiarity in 3D CAD, ideally CATIA V5
  • Knowledge of CAN/CANopen protocols and tools such as CANalyzer or CANoe
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office tools
  • Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus
