Job Summary: The Sales Center Delivery Driver ensures safe, efficient, and damage-free delivery of products to customers. Responsibilities include adhering to safety protocols, planning routes, loading/unloading freight, building customer relationships, and supporting warehouse operations in the Sales Center. This role upholds our reputation for quality and reliability through professional conduct and excellent service.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
Operational Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a delivery truck while transporting products, ensuring compliance with speed limits and traffic laws to maintain safety and efficiency on the road.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition and promptly report any maintenance issues to the supervisor to prevent breakdowns and ensure safety.
  • Load and unload freight, lifting objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights (up to 50 lbs frequently and greater than 75 lbs occasionally), ensuring that all items are handled with care to prevent damage.
  • Ensure goods are secured properly and safely for transportation to prevent shifting and damage during transit.
  • Maintain and clean the delivery truck and related equipment to uphold the company's professional image and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Handle and process related paperwork, ensuring all documentation is completed and filed correctly by following established procedures.
  • Maintain and update the driver logbook (digital and/or paper) meticulously, recording all deliveries, pickups, and other relevant information to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures while handling financial transactions to ensure accurate and secure money collection.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist in various tasks to support the team.

Customer Service:
  • Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations, assisting customers as needed.
  • Represent the company through professional conduct and appearance.
  • Develop and maintain good rapport with customers, reflecting the company's image positively and fostering long-term relationships that contribute to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Address any customer concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Record any product damages during transit or unloading, including detailed descriptions and photos if necessary.
  • Follow company escalation procedures for reporting and resolving issues, damages, or complaints efficiently.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Must have a valid DOT physical card and a valid driver's license has the capability to obtain
  • Must have a thorough grasp on the DOT rules and regulations regarding driving hours of service
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and background check
  • No DUI or License suspensions in the last 5 years

Essential Mental/Physical Functions:
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Capable of driving for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat to perform loading/unloading assignment(s)
  • Must be able to read and interpret, in English, job related documents and possess good to excellent communication skills
  • Must have the ability to do simple math (add, subtract, divide and multiply)
  • Must be able to identify products by way of work related documents such as pick lists, work orders, shipping documents, etc.
  • Must be able to maintain focus of tasks at hand with high level of attention to detail
