Job description

SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Forklift Team Lead is responsible for effectively and safely moving material as necessary, loading, and unloading trucks and assisting with staging finishing and semi-finished goods as required. Prior warehouse experience with expertise in standup lifts, sit down forklifts and walk behind. Safety is our number one priority.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follows and supports all Company Safety policies, procedures, GMP’s and required use of PPE
  • Leads and supports warehouse operators during shift
  • Works with team leads and supervisors from other departments
  • Is responsible for the flow of raw material, packaging, and finished goods both physically and logically
  • Follows product specific instructions on packaging; requirements include stacking patterns and handling instructions
  • Identify any issues visual or procedural found during product movement and receipt
  • Report any problems that arise with equipment, raw materials, or product being produced
  • Report and investigate any near miss opportunities or accidents by the warehouse team on your shift
  • Recognize, analyze, and report any product safety or product quality issues per Saturn’s food safety program
  • Recognize, analyze, and report any personnel safety issues per Saturn’s safety program
  • Ensure correct and adequate raw materials and packaging to support the production schedule as planned
  • Maintain established housekeeping standards for warehouse operations

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly or indirectly oversees and delegates duties to the shift’s team, keeping in mind the most economical use of head count and equipment to support production. Also oversees receiving and outbound shipping of customer materials.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience working in a factory or production environment is a plus
  • Experience working around Packaging and conveying systems is a plus

Computer and Technology Skills:

The successful candidate must be proficient in MS Office applications, SAP and or other ERP systems

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. German language speaking skills is another advantage.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
