Dining Room Manager - Gustav's (Downtown Vancouver)

From our scratch kitchen to our award-winning bar program, we deliver legendary hospitality in a warm, inviting environment. As Dining Room Manager - or Bar Manager, you'll take a hands-on leadership role in a busy, high-energy dining room. You'll support your team, maintain attention to detail, and ensure every guest has a memorable experience. We're looking for strong, experienced leaders who are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about hospitality. You'll shape the culture of the dining room while inspiring your team to consistently deliver exceptional service.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead Daily Operations: Oversee the flow of the dining room - from greeting guests to managing service and keeping everything running smoothly.
  • Create Memorable Guest Experiences: Bring Gustav's traditions to life, making every guest feel welcome and ensuring they leave excited to return.
  • Develop & Inspire the Team: Coach, mentor, and support front-of-house staff while fostering a culture of pride, teamwork, and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with Kitchen & Bar: Keep communication strong to ensure authentic, high-quality German cuisine and seamless service.
  • Maintain Tradition with Quality: Uphold Gustav's signature recipes and service style while embracing opportunities to innovate.
  • Support the General Manager: Assist with scheduling, training, inventory, and day-to-day operations to ensure the restaurant runs efficiently.

  • Experienced Leader: 3-5+ years in restaurant management, ideally in a scratch kitchen or full-service environment.
