Gustav's in Vancouver is looking to add a few new hospitality professionals to our amazing team. We are in search of a bartender who can deliver a truly excellent guest experience and enjoys creating delicious cocktails.
Gustav's is a locally owned German Restaurant that has become an institution in the Portland/Vancouver area for the last 30 years. Quality food has always been a focus at Gustav's since its inception and we are looking for like-minded professionals to keep that spirit alive!
NW Hospitality Group has recently acquired the legendary Gustav's with the intention of keeping the restaurant around for years to come! You may know us from our other local establishments, Amaro's Table and Cecilia. We are excited to take on this new venture and are looking for hospitality and culinary professionals to join our team! Our brand is already known for our impeccable service, delicious food and an amazing beverage programs.
Our bartenders must be very knowledgeable about our food, wine, beer and cocktails, so an eagerness to learn is very important to us.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about service and loves to share that passion by going above and beyond for guests. A natural-people-person with an eye for the details. You are looking to join a hard-working and efficient team that cares about great food and customer experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Take orders from bar customers for food and beverages in a timely fashion.
  • Produce the needed beverages for the service well.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the bar.
  • Keep accurate and updated tabs for guests throughout the shift.
  • Memorize house cocktail recipes and specs.
  • Maintain bar prep and stock throughout shift.
  • Collect customer payments and provide change in a timely and courteous manner.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a bartender
  • Ability to shake, stir and properly strain different types of cocktails.
  • Able to maintain quality and speed at peak volume hours.
  • Great knowledge of wine, cocktails, and beer with a interest in learning about German food/beverage culture.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry food trays for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to effectively listen to and respond to customer needs
  • Must have a courteous, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to multitask efficiently
