What You’ll Do
  • Own German entity accounting end‑to‑end and lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
  • Deliver clean, consolidation‑ready results to Corporate Accounting, including multi‑currency translation and inter‑company reconciliations.
  • Prepare and file German statutory financial statements (HGB) and manage the local statutory audit.
  • Execute German VAT filings, corporate income tax, and other local filings in conjunction with Corporate Tax.
  • Support transfer‑pricing documentation and cross‑border cost‑sharing agreements defined by Corporate Tax.
  • Operate Corporate’s internal controls framework locally, flagging where local nuance requires adaptation.
  • Partner with Business Systems on the local NetSuite footprint and serve as accounting voice on German localisation and statutory reporting.
  • Coordinate with the Works Council (Betriebsrat) and partner with local HR and Legal on accounting matters intersecting German employment law.
  • Serve as the accounting face of the German entity, representing Local Legal, HR, Operations, and commercial teams to Corporate leadership.
  • Build and scale the German accounting function, preparing for broader EMEA scope as the business grows.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Master’s, MBA, or German equivalent (Diplom‑Kaufmann/frau) preferred.
  • WirtschaftsprĂĽfer (WP) or Steuerberater strongly preferred.
  • US CPA, UK CA (ICAEW), or other equivalent qualification also acceptable.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3–5 years leading a subsidiary or multinational entity.
  • Deep knowledge of German HGB and strong working knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS familiarity a plus).
  • Experience with ASC830 foreign‑currency accounting and multi‑currency consolidation.
  • Experience managing a German statutory audit with a Big‑Four or top‑tier German audit firm.
  • ERP experience required; NetSuite strongly preferred.
  • Native or professional fluency in German (C1/C2) and business‑fluent English.
  • Familiarity with Betriebsrat coordination and German employment law, where applicable.
  • Comprehensive understanding of German accounting and capability to transition between HGB, USGAAP, and IFRS.
  • Proven ownership of the full close and statutory reporting cycle for a German entity.
  • Cross‑cultural competence and ability to bridge German and US teams.
  • Builder mindset – experience establishing or scaling a subsidiary accounting function.
  • Preference for lean, high‑leverage teams with third‑party partnerships.
  • Systems‑comfortable in a modern ERP environment (NetSuite a plus).
  • Credible partner for Legal, HR, and Operations, effective in local escalation and resolution.
  • Operator‑first, pragmatic, with strong technical foundation but focused on operational run.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to Santa Ana, CA, and other Collectors locations.
Salary Range

The salary range for this position is €124,255.26 – €142,893.55 – €164,327.58. Actual compensation within this range varies based on location, job level, experience, and skill set. The role may also be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation.
