Strong attention to detail, basic laboratory skills, and familiarity with lab equipment are also important for the role.

How to get a job in genetic testing?

To become a genetic testing lab assistant, candidates typically need a high school diploma or equivalent, with some roles requiring an associate degree or certification in genetics or molecular biology. Relevant skills include knowledge of laboratory techniques, familiarity with genetic testing tools, and attention to detail. Gaining experience through internships or entry-level laboratory positions can improve job prospects.
