We specialize in asphalt construction for commercial, industrial, and municipal parking lots, streets, highways and site development projects of all complexities and sizes.ย  Rieth-Riley is a 100% employee-owned company. Gain insight, work experience, andย work-based learning credit through aย paid internshipย at Rieth-Riley! We provide students studying the Civil Construction Pathway (or related construction pathway) an opportunity to learn from industry experts and discover a deeper understanding of heavy highway/civil construction.ย  The Civil Construction Pathway is recognized by the Department of Education as a high-value program.ย  Rieth-Riley will provide the following PPE items:ย  work boots, hard hat, safety vest, gloves.

SUMMARY

Assist field operations in a safe, efficient, and proper manner to achieve a quality finished product in the paving process.ย ย  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • General Laborer duties on asphalt, concrete, dirt/earthwork job sites.
    • Work with various hand tools including shovels, rakes that are used to move materials
    • Helping prep and clean up job sites
  • Quality control / Density, and technical aspects of projects in heavy highway/road construction.
    • Density testing, core sample collection, calculations, and inspections of aggregate, asphalt, or concrete mixes

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled in Civil Construction I or II as high school junior or senior
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn
  • Safety aptitude
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
  • Must be able to work outdoors
  • Problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently and as a team
