Are you a skilled and highly motivated Generator Technician who is looking to learn and grow in a fast-paced, challenging job in the Telecom industry? If so, Pearce has a career for you! Our Generator Technicians service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers in your region. This role is a great match for independent, self-starters who are willing to travel.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining generators, diagnosing and repairing problems, installing and replacing components or entire systems, and performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment
  • Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness, reading and following blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation
  • Be responsible for responding promptly/timely to Power/Generator alarms; have the ability to be on call 24/7 if necessary and respond promptly in answering assigned phone and email
  • Perform work with the awareness of all potential hazards connected with the installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, switching gear, and other equipment, including but not limited to falls, electric shock, falling objects, and traffic; use safety equipment and utilize safety practices; attend and participate in all designated safety and training meetings

Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.

Core Experience:

  • Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance is preferred and a minimum of one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of Generators; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations

Physical/Work Environment:

At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.

  • This position requires lifting over 50 pounds, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods of time
  • Must have the ability to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly
  • Must be willing and able to drive long distances, workday, evening, or night hours; overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required; must assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and be gone from home for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical
