Job description

Welcome to our Team! Your position is a crucial part of the hotel operations. 
To ensure that all areas of the hotel (including the restaurant if applicable) are kept properly stocked with clean laundry items. The laundry worker is responsible for cleaning and destaining laundry and ensuring that the laundry area and its equipment are well maintained. Hotel laundry attendants ensure that all articles are properly organized and stored so that none of the towels or linens get lost or misplaced. Responsibilities
  • Maintain good personal appearance at all times; wear proper uniform and name tag as prescribed by the hotel. 
  • Sort linens for washer using bins (sorting linens on the floor is not acceptable due to safety reasons). 
  • Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard bin. 
  • Operate and maintain washers and dryers per designated times and temperatures. 
  • Clean dryer vents daily per instructions and sweep behind dryer (dryer room). Log times cleaned with initials. 
  • Handle all laundry chemical products properly and advise the Housekeeping Manager/Hotel Manager of inventory levels. 
  • Fold all linens to hotel standards and stock them in an organized, neat manner. 
  • Wash bedspreads, mattress pads, blankets, and shower curtains per instructions. Ensure curtains are air-dried as the dryer will melt the fabric. 
  • Keep the laundry area clean and neat. 
  • Assist Housekeepers in other areas such as public area cleaning when laundry is slow or work is caught up. 
  • Additional duties from the hotel manager will be assigned as necessary. 
Additional Responsibilities for Hotels with Restaurants: 
  • Wash and fold banquet and kitchen laundry. 
  • Check daily for all banquet and restaurant linen needs.

  • For guest safety and security, never give out details about a guest over the phone. 
  • Do not provide credit card information or authorize remote access to hotel systems over the phone.
