Job Description: The General Manager will assist with and oversee daily retail operations for Sunset Coast Provisions. This position supports scheduling, inventory management, retail team training, driving sales, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction, all while ensuring compliance with state and local laws. Job Responsibilities: Partner with the Director of Operations and the executive team to build and execute the retail strategy with specific focus on driving brand awareness of Company’s portfolio brands
Strategically ensure consistent retail experience and customer/patient engagement across key functions: Merchandising, Marketing, Training, Compliance, Human Resources, and Finance
Adhere to and promote a culture of compliance as it pertains to state and company regulations
Become an expert in all cannabis state-specific rules, regulations and laws. Execute and enforce compliance
Lead cannabis product procurement and develop processes related thereto
Oversee the purchasing, pricing and sale of all inventory on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis
Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of Company mission - specifically, support management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning
Provide guidance to store leaders by training on metrics, business processes and focus on continuous improvement strategies to Company business objectives
Partner with cross-functional Company divisions to ensure store has clear direction and training in all areas
Lead performance management and talent development initiatives in alignment with the Company
Build upon, and continue to deliver, a workplace culture of excellence, service, and passion about our mission and customers
Drive sales, profitability and gross margin
Oversee the store's P&L working closely with data & analytics on the sales trends and make recommendations to refine sales strategy to maximize profitability
Drive maximum profitability by managing expense budgets, including deposits, accounts receivable and profit and loss.
Ensure loss prevention / security policies and practices are being followed.
Set sales targets and implement action plans for reporting and achieving KPIs
Regularly communicate with and update the senior leadership team
Prepare regular reports for upper management
Manage and train staff on point of sale system
Create daily work schedule(s) for proper employee utilization
Oversee day-to-day operations
Assist and support staff training in accordance with company and state requirements across all locations
Participate in marketing efforts designed to manage community engagement, store promotions and events, and customer communication across a wide range of platforms Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required or relevant experienceCannabis experience a plus
Comfort reading and interpreting regulations, laws and compliance-related matters
Must have maintained P&L responsibility for significant retail operations
Expertise managing high-growth, multi-site retail locations
Prior experience scaling a retail organization, including management of systems and processes
Financial, mathematical, statistical and consumer research experience required to read, interpret and understand how internal and external factors influence financial results
Proven experience utilizing data to effectively drive business decisions
Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
Ability to use Excel and Point of Sale system to ensure compliance and analytics
