Lexington Country Club in Fort Myers is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.


Along with the responsibilities of leading the golf course maintenance staff in performance and productivity, proper pesticide and fertilizer application, and irrigation management, this position will give a great opportunity to develop further in the organization. As the assistant, your commitment to managing turf health under the leadership of the Golf Course Superintendent will require the following:


Responsibilities

· Assist with scheduling, performance reviews, and safety training.

· Calibration and application of fertilizers and pesticides with hand sprayers, push spreaders and a boom spray rig.

· Monitor disease and pest populations.

· Daily record keeping of all product inventory and usage.

· Practice conscious cost control measures on all product inventory.

· Protect natural environments, the golf course, and all other areas maintained, by implementing best management practices.


Leadership

· Provide positive support, direction, and leadership for the team.

· Enthusiasm for training and coaching.

· Communicate effectively for team coordination and guest interactions.


Equipment Safety and Maintenance

· Dedication to safely operate and maintain all equipment used to perform daily tasks.


Licensing

· Commercial Applicator-Ornamental & Turf

· Florida Golf Course Best Management Practices Certification

· Green Industries Best Management Practices Certification.


Education

· Turfgrass Management, horticultural, or related study is preferred.

· Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent required.


Experience

· 3 to 5 years applying fertilizers and pesticides on golf courses.

· 3 to 5 years of managing golf course maintenance staff.

· Golf course maintenance, equipment operation, and landscaping.

· Attention to detail.
