Golf Course Maintenance

San Antonio Country Club | San Antonio, Texas

Starting Pay: $17 - $18 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

San Antonio Country Club is seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our Golf Course Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and wants to develop valuable skills in professional golf course maintenance.

Previous golf course experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person. Experience in landscaping, lawn care, irrigation, construction, agriculture, parks and grounds maintenance, or other outdoor work is a plus.

Our maintenance team is responsible for maintaining a private, upscale golf course to a high standard. Employees have the opportunity to learn and develop skills involving turfgrass maintenance, mowing, bunker maintenance, golf course setup, equipment operation, and general course care.

What You'll Do
  • Mow and maintain greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and other turf areas.
  • Assist with the care and maintenance of turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees, and wetlands.
  • Maintain bunkers, including raking and general upkeep.
  • Change cups and set tee markers according to golf course standards.
  • Operate a variety of golf course maintenance equipment.

Schedule & Working Conditions

This is a full-time outdoor position with an early morning work schedule.

Employees must be able to:

  • Arrive reliably and on time for early morning shifts.
  • Work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
  • Work outdoors for extended periods in the San Antonio heat, humidity, cold, and changing weather conditions.
  • Walk, stand, bend, stoop, sit, lift, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
  • Occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Follow all safety requirements and procedures.

Reliability is extremely important in golf course maintenance. Our work begins early each morning, and the condition of the golf course depends on every member of the team being present and ready to work on time.

Qualifications
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Ability to use common sense and make appropriate decisions when performing assigned tasks.
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
