Mira Vista Country Club, in Fort Worth, Texas is seeking a career-driven Assistant Superintendent to join one of the premier private club golf operations in Texas. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to work alongside a highly accomplished agronomic leadership team while helping maintain and continually improve a recently renovated championship golf course.
Following the completion of a transformative $21 million golf course renovation in 2024-2025, Mira Vista has positioned itself among the finest golf facilities in the region. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience managing elite warm-season turfgrass surfaces, leading staff, implementing agronomic programs, and contributing to future capital improvement projects.
This role is ideal for an aspiring golf course management professional seeking a clear pathway toward Golf Course Superintendent and Director of Agronomy positions.

    • In Season: 60-65 hours per week

Key Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills, and Aptitude:
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising daily golf course maintenance operations
  • Execute fertility, irrigation, plant protectant, and cultural practice programs
  • Monitor and maintain championship-quality playing conditions throughout the property
  • Supervise, train, and develop maintenance staff
  • Lead daily assignments and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
  • Assist with irrigation management and water conservation initiatives
  • Participate in pesticide and fertilizer applications
  • Monitor turf health and identify agronomic concerns proactively
  • Assist with budgeting, inventory management, and recordkeeping
  • Coordinate special projects and course improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and environmental regulations
  • Assume operational leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Agronomy or Golf Course Superintendent

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certificate, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field preferred
  • 1-4+ years of golf course maintenance experience considered
  • Additional experience may offset educational requirements
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of warm-season turfgrass management principles
  • Experience with irrigation systems and water management practices preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Valid driver's license
