Job description

Are you a hands-on problem solver who loves working with vehicles, tools, and heavy equipment? Fox Cities Builders is looking for a General Maintenance Mechanic to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their day, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty.
What You'll Do:
No two days are the same here! You'll:
  • Keep our vehicles, trailers, and equipment in top-notch shape - from oil changes to major repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain and repair small engines, tools, and building systems.
  • Visit job sites for on-the-spot repairs and service calls.
  • Help create and improve standard operating procedures to keep our shop running like a well-oiled machine.
  • Work closely with the team to tackle the daily task list - teamwork makes the dream work!

What We're looking for:
  • A mechanically minded go-getter who loves solving problems.
  • Skilled in automotive, diesel, or small-engine repair (or eager to learn more!).
  • Organized and safety-focused - you take pride in doing things the right way.
  • A true team player with a "get it done" attitude.

What You Bring to the Team:
  • Strong mechanical skills with experience in vehicle and equipment repair.
  • Ability to use power and hand tools confidently and safely.
  • Knowledge of aerial lifts, forklifts, and general mechanics (automotive certification preferred).
  • Comfortable using laptops or tablets for maintenance logs, diagnostics, and repair documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to read service manuals, follow instructions, and communicate clearly in English.
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL-Class A and Fed Med Card (or ability to obtain within 3 months).
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
