Job description

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities
  • Prepares construction budget by studying plans, updating specifications, identifying and projecting job costs
  • Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, site requirements
  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, negotiating price
  • Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications
  • A 5-year record of success as an estimator in civil, mass excavation, mass grading, utilities, paving, and demolition
  • Proficient with computer estimating software such as HeavyBid or AGTEK
  • Providing leadership and establishing estimating protocols for pricing structure development to ensure the accuracy and timely completion of proposals from conceptual estimates through project buy out
  • Support project teams with scope development, bid requirements, schedule of values, and contractual language
  • Establish protocols and develop methodologies to streamline the estimating process and support the long-term development of the company and the estimating team
  • Analyzing plans and specifications, locating sub-contractors and suppliers, setting up online plan room for sub-contractors, and writing technical proposals
  • Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
