Job description

Summary: Sevan Multi-Site Solutions is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations for commercial retail construction projects across the United States. This role is responsible for jobsite safety, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and execution from groundbreaking through closeout.
Travel: Initial projects are based in Las Cruces, NM; thereafter, 90-100% nationwide travel is required.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Hold an active Qualifying Party Certificate issued by the New Mexico Construction Industries Division (CID) as a General Building Contractor; or
  • Have successfully passed the NASCLA (National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies) examination.

In addition, candidates must meet the following experience requirement:
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience within the past ten (10) years at the foreman level or in a related trade, including at least two (2) years on commercial construction projects

Project Types: Immediate projects will focus on retail construction in New Mexico. Additional project assignments may include retail, restaurant (QSR), grocery, fuel/convenience store, and federal construction, including ground-up builds, remodels, and structural concrete work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead Field Operations
  • Oversee all onsite construction activities and field operations
  • Direct subcontractors, vendors, and field crews to maintain productivity and progress
  • Ensure projects stay on schedule and meet key milestones

Scheduling & Coordination
  • Develop and manage short-term look-ahead schedules aligned with the master project schedule
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and labor to maintain workflow
  • Identify potential issues early and implement solutions to avoid delays

Safety Leadership
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, site inspections, and job hazard analysis
  • Ensure proper PPE use and maintain a strong safety culture onsite

Quality Control
  • Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards
  • Perform regular jobsite walkthroughs and inspections
  • Coordinate required inspections, testing, and quality control procedures

Subcontractor Management
  • Manage subcontractor performance, scope execution, and schedule adherence
  • Coordinate trades to prevent conflicts and maintain project flow
  • Address field issues and escalate discrepancies when necessary

Project Documentation
  • Maintain daily reports including manpower, progress, weather, and safety updates
  • Communicate field updates and issues to the Project Manager
  • Assist with RFIs, change orders, and field directives as needed

Project Closeout
  • Manage punch list completion and final inspections
  • Coordinate site demobilization and project turnover
  • Support delivery of as-builts, O&M manuals, and final documentation

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of construction experience, including 3+ years as a Superintendent for a General Contractor
  • Experience managing commercial construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
  • Experience with Procore, Microsoft Office, and construction scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera P6 preferred)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain)
  • First Aid / CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
  • General Contractor license or LEED experience is a plus

Pay & Benefits:
The anticipated compensation range for the position is $90,000 to $120,000, is based on a full-time schedule, market and business conditions, and is commensurate on individual education, qualifications, and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, flexible paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, and a matching 401K plan.
Work Conditions & Travel:
This is an on-site role at the location of the project(s) and requires 90-100% travel nationwide. Multi-shift work may be required to accomplish work in active retail locations to meet aggressive schedules.
